Embedded not selectable

Options -> Git -> Git Version offers the options Embedded and System.
(Win 11, Bitbucket, Sourcetree version 3.4.29.0)

I can activate "Embedded", but my colleagues cannot, despite following these steps:

1. Close all instances of Visual Studio.
2. Log out of Git/Bitbucket in all web browsers (for all user profiles).
3. Close all web browsers.
4. Open SourceTree and remove all stored credentials in the Authentication tab.
5. Close SourceTree.
6. Open the Windows Credential Manager.
7. In the Windows Credential Manager, remove all entries whose name contains “bitbucket.”
8. With SourceTree still closed, rename all local Atlassian/SourceTree configuration directories so that a fresh configuration is created the next time it is started. In particular:
   
   C:\Users\<WindowsUser>\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\
   and (depending on the version/installation) all folders referring to Atlassian under
   
   C:\Users\<WindowsUser>\AppData\Local\
   C:\Users\<WindowsUser>\AppData\LocalLow\
   C:\Users\<WindowsUser>\AppData\Roaming\
9. Then start SourceTree and install and configure it according to the required steps.

Any ideas?

Hey @Uwe Raatz ,

I'm assuming that when they navigate to Options > Git they can still see Embedded option, but it is grayed out? I have that behavior and when I try to use Update Embedded option, it does run, but in the end, nothing happens. 

You could maybe check these, a couple of older reported bugs do offer some kind of recommendations, but I didn't have a chance to try them out 👀

Your assumption is correct, also for Update Embedded option; same result:  nothing happens / changes.
