CredentialHelperSelector offering vague "manager" option, stuck in Select cycle

I use the default because I figure there's a reason Atlassian chose it, but it's vague (called "manager"), and clicking the "Select" button just sends me back to the prompt with no error message.

What does "manager" refer to, and why does clicking the "Select" button keep sending me back to this prompt? Note that trying "wincred" instead does the same cycle.

I'm using Windows 11 Pro.

@dayanvirpa I believe manager is referring to the Git Credential Manager (GCM), a program that securely stores your username, passwords, and access tokens in your operating system's native credential manager.  If you do not have that setup then my guess is that is why it redirects back to that screen because it did not find any credentials.
