I've been having issues with getting my gitlab account to work with Sourcetree for god knows how long. I have a remote account set up and logged in using username and a PAT instead of password and that all works but whenever i try to clone a repository it gives me the error that my access was denied and that the password or that the token was expired. The thing is, i made the token 2 days ago and should still be fine for a year.

To make matters more interesting whenever i use github desktop it will instantly clone and give no issues whatsoever. This seems to be an issue on the side of Sourcetree and it's been driving me crazy. What can i do to fix this issue as i do prefer to use Sourcetree over github desktop.

@cococol welcome to the Atlassian community

It sounds like Sourcetree is still trying to use your password.  I would suggest removing the password file and see if it prompts you to enter your PAT again.

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree

You can delete your password file there.
