Rovo Studio agent write skills (Edit content, Edit page append content) fail after confirmation in Ask Rovo. Read skills work fine. On confirming a write action, the agent thinks for a few seconds and then throws the 'io.netty.handler.timeout.ReadTimeoutException' followed by 'Agent execution did not return any ExecutableAgentActionMessage results.' Agent config verified: org-level MCP write permissions enabled (write_confluence allowed), skills correctly configured, agent runs as authenticated user. Issue is at Rovo Studio backend execution layer.
**edit - After the timeout error resolved, the agent began returning success messages for write actions, but the target Confluence page shows no version change and no content was written. The write is silently failing - success is falsely reported.
Hello @Fexcy Francis
To isolate the cause, ask the agent to append a single sentence to a brand-new page in an unrestricted space. If it still reports success without creating a new version in the page history, you will need to open a ticket with Atlassian Support.
The Community cannot access Rovo Studio execution logs, so please provide Atlassian with your site URL, agent name, target page, and any Rovo debug or request IDs to help them investigate the backend failure.
There are public reports of Rovo agents sometimes returning no response or reporting unclear execution results, but your case looks specifically like a Confluence write action reporting success without persisting a page change. That needs Atlassian to check from the backend.
What i can say 100 % - Theres still tons of inconsistency around Agents behaviour.
Also Couple things which will help Investigate:
Debug responses from Rovo agents | Rovo | Atlassian Support
Last one are very Important. That will be helpful for Support with Investigation your case.
Best,
