I tried to build some reports in Confluence for the Jira tickets, and I have instructed the Rovo agent to gather all the ticket data and create a Confluence page under a provided Confluence page as a child page. But it is only creating the page under the space directory.
And in the instructions, I have asked Rovo to import ticket data into tables, as well as charts, but the chart is not being created.
Are there any limitations in Rovo for it?

I tried the following prompt:

I got some data tables and also charts from it, but Rovo is persistent that it cannot create new Confluence pages from chat.

Very frustrating.  I bet @Dr Valeri Colon _Connect Centric_  has some better ideas than I.

Note: There are native Jira report macros (Pie Chart, Created vs. Resolved, Two Dimensional) that you should use instead.

Also: Once Rovo Remix (Transform content with Remix | Confluence Cloud | Atlassian Support) is rolled out, creating charts should become much more reliable and easy. So I'd only pull data from Jira in a table format and have Rovo Remix create those charts. Beware that LLMs are not the best for statistical data as they may make up some numbers. They are becoming better at this but good 'ol Excel may still excel (haha :D) at this task.

@Mohammed Suhail you’re hitting a mix of limitations + how Rovo resolves context today.

  • Child pages: It can create pages, but parent placement isn’t reliable from chat alone. Even with instructions, it may default to the space unless the parent is clearly resolved (link/ID).
  • Charts: Tables are more reliable. Charts depend on macros and aren’t consistently generated via prompts.

@Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_ is right on the approach. One tweak I’d suggest:

  • Have Rovo generate structured tables only
  • Then use Confluence macros or Remix to handle charts
  • If hierarchy matters, trigger via automation instead of chat

It’s less 'one prompt magic', more staged—but much more consistent

Hi @Dr Valeri Colon _Connect Centric_ ,

thanks a lot. That was also my way forward. Works fine but as you said it would be awesome to achieve this in rovo purely.

Hi @Dr Valeri Colon _Connect Centric_ ,

even if the parent is clearly resolved (link/ID) it does not work for me. Did you find another workaround to achieve this?

Its quite frustrating since this is "basics" for other AI-Agents from other tools. I feel like rovo is not really reliable at this stage to fully automate or outsource easy tasks.

Best and thanks in advance

Jan

@Jan totally hear your frustration. Even with a resolved parent (link/ID), child page placement from chat isn’t consistently reliable yet. That’s a current limitation, not a configuration issue. What’s working more reliably today:

  • Use Automation (Confluence/Jira) to create the page with the correct parent
  • Let Rovo handle content generation only
  • Or use API/webhook-based creation if you need full control

So the pattern is: Rovo = generate, Automation/API = place + structure.

Not ideal, but much more predictable until this improves. There are a couple of other new questions on Rovo not creating Confluence pages in the forum that I'm going to investigate now. I'll let you know if something new comes up.
