Hi everyone,
I'm currently learning about Rovo Agents and I'm trying to better understand the role of Skills within an agent.
From what I understand, Skills are part of the agent configuration and they enable specific capabilities or actions, but I'm still not completely clear on how they work in practice.
Could someone provide more details on:
I'm particularly interested in understanding the capabilities that Skills provide and how they influence what an agent can and cannot do.
Any guidance, examples, or recommended resources would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello @Isabel Calzada
Have you accessed the free, on-demand training available from the Learning link at the top of the community pages?
Here is a link directly to multiple Rovo courses collected the the Get the Most Out of Rovo Learning Path.

Hi @Isabel Calzada In Rovo, instructions tell the agent how to behave, knowledge sources tell it what information it can reference, permissions control who can use or manage it, and Skills define what actions it can take. For example, a Skill may let an agent search Jira, create a Confluence page, comment on an issue, or call an external tool. Best practice is to enable only the Skills needed for the agent’s job and test each one with realistic prompts.
