Hi there-
following the steps in: Add an external MCP server from Atlassian Administration | Atlassian Support I wanted to add the Microsoft Learn MCP server (MCP-URL: https://learn.microsoft.com/mcp) as custom MCP-Server, since this would be of great value for some use cases.
Unfortunalely I run into an error (just saying "an error has occured (..)".
Hence I wanted to ask, what's the requirements for adding the MCP server are. The Microsoft Learn MCP Server overview | Microsoft Learn is design to work as streamable with no auth.
as that is a really new feature, documentation is scarce.
I have tried adding Atlassian's own mcp and that worked. I couldn't find a lot of mcp urls to test but some worked and others resulted in the same error.
I'd do as the error message suggests and contact the Support about it.
were you successful in adding custom MCPs now?

hi @Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_
a feature request was created [ECO-1340] Add support for auth-less External MCP Servers - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products. , since external MCP with "no-auth" are not supported atm.
I did not have any use case to use other custom MCP with other forms of authentication yet.
