How does Rovo handle conflicting or incomplete information?

Hi everyone,

One thing I've been wondering about is how Rovo deals with situations where the available information isn't perfect.

For example, if different Confluence pages contain conflicting information, or if the documentation is incomplete, what does Rovo do?

Does it try to identify the most reliable source, mention that the information is conflicting, or could it still generate an answer that isn't fully accurate?

I'm curious because this seems like an important consideration for teams relying on AI in production environments.

Would love to understand how others think about this.

Hi @AGASTYA SHARMA

Rovo can't automatically identify official sources of truth because it simply synthesizes whatever content a user can access. If pages conflict, it won't reliably pick the correct version or flag contradictions.

For critical workflows, use clear knowledge governance: archive outdated pages, limit custom agents to vetted spaces, and prompt them to highlight conflicting sources instead of guessing.

Best,

Hi Agastya,

From my experience, Rovo is only as good as the information available to it. If there are conflicting or outdated Confluence pages, I wouldn't assume it'll always pick the right one, so it's always worth checking the referenced content before relying on the answer. The same applies to incomplete documentation—Rovo can only work with what's available. I think the biggest factor is keeping your Jira and Confluence content clean, up to date, and free of duplicates, as that usually leads to much more reliable responses. Curious to know how others have experienced this as well.

I'd add that you can have Rovo look explicitly for conflicting information and it can give you some ideas about which one is accurate based off on last updated date and views.
