30-day retention limit for Rovo Chat history

Hi,

Rovo Chat has a conversation history retention limit of 30 days. Chats older than 30 days are automatically removed from your history and can't be recovered.

Can I suggest that chats are preserved indefinitely as a historical record inline with other AI tools?

Yes, you can suggest this, and there’s already an open Atlassian feature request for configurable Rovo Chat retention instead of the current fixed 30-day period.

I’d recommend voting for and watching that request, then adding a comment describing your need for indefinite retention. That helps Atlassian understand whether customers want a longer default period or an administrator-controlled retention setting.

At the moment, Atlassian’s documentation states that Rovo Chat stores prompts and responses for 30 days, and that chats older than that aren’t available in Chat history. There doesn’t appear to be a setting that lets users or administrators extend the period today.
