Hi there!
We have set up the integration between OpsGenie and Jira Cloud so that when an issue is opened in a given project in Jira, an alert is automatically created. The problem now is we also work with alerts created by other sources (different from this jira project) and, in some cases, we need to create (manually) Jira tickets from these alerts. In those cases, as a ticket is created in the project, we receive an additional alert (created as a consequence of the integration Opsgenie-Jira Cloud).
Is there any way to avoid the second alert?
Thank you!
Hey, @Celia Gallego happy to help! 😄
There is a way to avoid the second alert when creating a Jira ticket manually from an OpsGenie alert. You can set up a rule in OpsGenie to not create an alert in the linked project when a Jira issue is created manually. This can be done by creating a suppression rule based on a certain label or custom field in Jira that distinguishes the manual creation of tickets.
Here are the steps to set up the rule:
Once you've set up the suppression rule, alerts should not be created in the linked project when a Jira ticket is created manually based on the criteria you specified.
In case you need further assistance, my suggestion is for you to open a formal ticket with us at https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/. 😄
Best,
Rafa
