The Road to Anaheim: Why Team ’26 Hits Differently 🎡

I’m gearing up for Team ’26 in Anaheim, and looking back, it’s incredible to see how the "center of gravity" for our community shifts every single year.

This marks my 4th consecutive year at Team US, and more importantly, it’s the 4th consecutive year that miniOrange is stepping up as a sponsor. Having been a part of the Teams Europe events as well, I’ve realized that the Expo Hall has become a second home for us. The challenges we’re solving are brand new and evolve every year. 

Where Identity Meets the AI Frontier 🛡️

In previous years, we talked about Cloud Migration or ITSM. This year, the conversation has changed. With Atlassian pushing the boundaries of AI, moving from the launch of Rovo to making AI-native teamwork the standard, we’ve entered a high-stakes era.

As AI becomes the "new teammate" in your Jira and Confluence instances, Identity and Data Security aren't just checkboxes anymore, they are the foundation. You can’t have AI everywhere if your data isn't secure and your identities aren't verified. That’s the puzzle we’re helping our customers solve this year.

The Teams Vibe

While I’m sure I’ll be making some new connections, we’ll be having some new faces from our team joining this time. I’m most excited to catch up with the familiar faces I only get to see once or twice a year. Moving those conversations from Zoom to real life is the best part of the week. I can’t wait to meet new partners, customers, and Community members I’ve only seen as profile pictures so far.

If you’ve been to Team before, you already know the vibe: you go for the roadmap… but you come back with a notebook full of “okay, we’re doing this next week” ideas, plus a bunch of unexpected conversations that turn into partnerships, customer wins, or just really good product debates.

Waiting for the Next Big Thing

Atlassian has a habit of setting the bar high. From Rovo’s debut at Team ’24 Europe to that actual Formula 1 moment in Barcelona last year with Carlos Sainz, the "wow" factor is real. I’m hoping Team ’26 has a similarly wild surprise up its sleeve.
