Hello everyone!

I work a lot with Jira as part of my job. I wanted to open the floor to ask:

What gadget do you have on your dashboard that you just can't live without?

For me, it is custom tiles that update based on how often work items are being updated!

Would love to hear some stories of that one gadget that you saw, sat back in your chair, and went "Yeah. That's cool."

Have a great day!

For me it's a Sankey diagram that allows me to see several dimensions at the same time, differently than a single chart that usually allows to see data into a single or 2 dimensions at most, the Sankey diagram allows me to see up to 6 dimensions on the same chart, plus Executives love this chart!

In this example I can see the balance of work across spaces, issue type, status and assigneeUntitled.png

Wow Laura, this is amazing. I must admit we're not working with apps like this, but I can definitely see the benefit - what an amazing way to track overall commitment and output!

Jira's native dashboard features are nice, but (as in many areas of Jira) the full potential can only be unlocked when you work with Marketplace Apps.

What I love about our Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards app - and I'm sure everyone who loves lean, simple, yet flexible dashboards will love it too:

  • One Quick Controller gadget: A central control element that dynamically filters all other gadgets on your dashboard. No separate dashboards needed for every team, project, or assignee. Everything configured directly on one aboard.
  • Multiple filter types: Buttons, Dropdowns, Input Fields, or Read-only Filters, all based on a  simple field-filter or custom JQL.
  • Works with JQL directly: No need to create saved Jira filters for each gadget. Less filter clutter, easier setup.
  • Smart Dropdowns: Suggestions adapt dynamically to your currently active selections. Users only see options that make sense in context.
  • Multiple Quick Controllers: Add several controllers to one dashboard and define which gadgets they communicate with. AND / OR logic, or single-filter mode — your choice.

Basically: set up your dashboard once, use it flexibly across teams and projects. 🎉

Disclosure: I work at codefortynine, the team behind Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards.

I love my two-dimensional filter statistics. I have it set to show me who tickets are assigned to on my team and from which project. It provides a high-level view of where we are engaged and who might have availability for new tasks.

But, it's been a while since I've made any changes, so I should probably see if there are any new gadgets that I would appreciate.
