Daily standups work best when they are short, focused, and grounded in real work. Jira Cloud has introduced a native daily standup feature that helps teams run their standups directly from their Jira boards, without relying on external tools or manual preparation.

This feature brings the daily sync closer to where the work happens and helps teams keep conversations aligned with actual progress.

What Is the Standups Feature?

The Standups feature in Jira Cloud enables teams to facilitate structured daily standup meetings without leaving Jira. From a single interface on your board, teams can view and run standups that reflect live task progress straight from Jira.

How It Works

• Start Standup Easily: Open your team’s Jira board and select More actions → Start standup.
• See Team Work in Context: Jira automatically lists team members with tasks assigned on the board, grouped by status such as To Do, In Progress, and Done.
• Focus on Individual Updates: Click a team member’s name to filter the board view to their work.
• Built-in Timer: Use the built-in timer to time-box each speaker’s update.
• End Standup: When updates are complete, select End standup to conclude the session.

This streamlined process helps teams conduct daily standups more efficiently by tying discussion directly to the work in Jira.
