How did you get your first 10 Marketplace installs?

Hi everyone!

I’m an engineering student and a solo developer. I recently published my very first app on the Atlassian Marketplace, and I’d love to get some advice from the veteran vendors and developers here.

Since I’m completely new to the Marketplace ecosystem, I’m curious to hear how some of you got your initial traction.

• How long did it take to get your first 5–10 installs?

• Where did those first installs come from?

• Did you write blogs, make videos, rely on Marketplace search, post in communities, or use some other approach?

• Looking back, what would you do differently if you were launching your first Marketplace app today?

Any advice, harsh truths, or lessons learned would be massively appreciated.

Depends on the app and its purposes, but in my experience inbound marketing works the best, try to solve real problems and create content around your topic, all content types and differnt channels as well cause it depends mostly on target audience, check communities with your target audience, leverage linkedin but the is no one rule for how and how long does it take.
