AI-powered Meeting notes - Page Templates & Custom Prompts for meetings

Not all meetings in our organization are alike. They vary by topic, style and depth and what outcomes we expect.

e.g. Some of our meetings are routinely more presentation-style than others. Some are intensely technical where particular details matter.

I want to choose the summarization details that Loom picks up, e.g.

  • in Engineering, pay attention to makes, model, dates and dependencies.
  • in sales, to incentives, customer tendencies, etc.

And, correspondingly, to control the meeting page format.

  • For all meetings, I want to add a table of contents. In some I want the video first, in others the actions. etc.

So, for particular types of meetings I'd want to run particular prompts against the transcripts.

So, is there a way to control the template used to generate the pages? If not, when could we expect there to be?

Both Fireflies and Fathom offer this capability. I could write code but I'd prefer not to.

Thanks, Martin.

Edit: it looks like there is some capability here, under Edit > Take Action

But I need to add my own prompt and templates as a space admin or Loom workspace admin or user.

Hi Martin,

I'm happy to report that meeting note templates are on our near term roadmap, and we expect to see them in ~October. 😊

Excellent. Is it done?

I'm looking through Loom's UI but can't find anything relevant.

BTW - Otter.ai has implemented this now as well. See picture.

You should expect to see them next week if you don't already- the roll out has started!

It looks like this is a "Loom Recap" feature.

I don't have that tab yet, but perhaps you can tell me where I can read more about it?

Does Loom have a page showing releases? I guess it is a progressive roll-out? Thx

Are you on a free plan or a paid plan? Loom AI is not included on our free plans but it's available on paid versions (Biz+AI, Enterprise). You can read more here!

I have Premium for Confluence and Business+AI for Loom. Notice no recap tab.

Also, your docs page mentions "Auto Summary" in Settings, I don't see that.

Which is why I was looking for releases page, so I can see what's been added over time, not only the final text.

Is the screenshot you provided from a regular Loom video, or a meeting that was recorded with Loom AI for meetings?

Hi Brittany,

1. In person meetings are still meetings

Oh. Well, so for my meeting, I met with a colleague IN PERSON and recorded the conversation in front of Loom. So that's not recorded the way you expected.

But shouldn't Loom consider that a meeting? I do when I say it is. And even from a retrospectively tagged "this is a meeting" video I'd then expect it to be treated the same.

Is there another way to record and share an in-person using Loom?

---

2. Is this Recap menu going to be fixed or do I get a say?

Now, for another meeting, online this time, I do see the Recap tab, and within that, I see this dropdown.

None of these 4 options will suit me, not least because we want to drive multiple meeting minutes from the same meeting (think of this like reporting to technical vs sales colleagues - they care about different things).

I do recognize that Rovo Agents could be made to extract the factors for the relevant audiences but a simple "code your own prompt" would tide us over for the meantime.

Thanks!
