Senior JSM Configuration Architect

The Opportunity
ProTec Integration, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Jira Service Management (JSM) Configuration Architect to design, configure, test, and operationalize service-management capabilities for a multi-year public-sector technology modernization engagement. This is a senior, hands-on, client-facing role—not a high-level advisory or Jira project-management position.
Responsibilities
- Translate approved ITSM processes and business requirements into working Jira Service Management configurations.
- Configure request types, portals, forms, fields, workflows, statuses, approvals, queues, SLAs, notifications, dashboards, reports, and automation rules.
- Facilitate workshops to identify operational needs, resolve design decisions, and align process and platform behavior.
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, configuration specifications, test plans, UAT materials, release-readiness documentation, and user guidance.
- Coordinate with client Jira administrators on enterprise permissions, global settings, integrations, security controls, and production governance.
- Support demonstrations, pilots, adoption, stabilization, knowledge transfer, and continual improvement.
Required Background
- At least eight years of relevant ITSM, enterprise-service-management, workflow-platform, or service-delivery experience, including at least five years of recent hands-on Jira Service Management configuration.
- Active Atlassian Jira or Jira Service Management certification. Managing Jira Service Projects for Cloud is preferred; another relevant Atlassian certification may be accepted with strong JSM configuration evidence.
- Demonstrated recent experience configuring JSM in a production ITSM or enterprise-service-management environment.
- Strong practical understanding of Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Catalog, Knowledge, and Configuration/CMDB practices.
- Strong client-facing workshop, documentation, testing, problem-solving, and stakeholder-communication skills. Public-sector experience is preferred.
