I am currently trying to automate the creation of certain subtasks in a task-creation rule based on Sprint Creation.
The rule is as follows :
Yet when I create my new sprint, only the Story ticket is created, and the subtask is created unbound from everything else, not housed within any ticket.
How do I correct this so that I automate the creation of sub-tasks so that they automatically fit within their parent ticket with each new sprint created ?
Hi @Admin_E3D -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Based on what you described, your rule is missing a branch.
The Create Sub-tasks action needs an issue to act upon, and so try making this adjustment:
Kind regards,
Bill
Hi @Admin_E3D ,
Which action in the automation rule do you use to create the subtask?
Do you use "Create sub-tasks"?
Because you indicate 'the subtask is created unbound from everything else', but in Jira a subtask can only be created under another issue?
And do you have some screenshots of the rule and the created subtask to clarify your question?
greetings, Marco

Hello Marco,
Thank you for your response, here is a copy of my rule, in French (the language my organisation uses)
Several other stories and their sub-tasks are also meant to be created by the rule, but only the stories end up in my Sprint backlog, and I cannot find the sub-tasks anywhere
