Hello Everyone,
Are there any guides out there that help you setup jumpcloud sso with Jira. The Jira admin System SSO 2.0 page is not that "intuitive" if so to speak, and jumpcloud doesn't have a plugin for Jira in its list applications. Although it has one for Atlassian Cloud, I don't know is that what im supposed to use and if so how? if not what are my options?
Thank for any help and guidance in advance!
Cheers
Full SAML SSO support is only avaialble for JIRA datacenter. Server version only allows configuring Crowd as a SAML IDP for Single Sign-on.
Since you want to use the JumpCloud as your IDP, you can achieve your use case by using the third-party SAML SSO plugin from Atlassian marketplace as suggested above.
Here is one of the SAML SSO plugin for JIRA from miniOrange and the docs to configure SSO in JumpCloud is given below
https://support.jumpcloud.com/customer/portal/articles/2452565-getting-started-single-sign-on-sso-
In case, if you need any assistance with the setup, feel free to reach out to miniOrange support.
Thanks.
Lokesh
Hi!
By your message I assume you are talking about Jira DC.
Jira Data-Center comes with a basic SAML integration, which is documented here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/saml-single-sign-on-for-atlassian-data-center-applications-857050705.html
As the original DC SAML does not support metadata, you will have to find respective settings in the JumpCloud UI.
This link may help you: https://support.jumpcloud.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2551066-single-sign-on-sso-with-saml-2-0-connector
Your alternative is to use a commercial plugin like ours
We provide free Screenshare Sessions to do the Setup together with you, which you can easily book via https://resolution.de/go/calendly
There is also a large amount of enterprise features that we support, which is not covered by the basic SAML that ships with Jira DC (encrpytion, single logout, muliple IdPs, User creation & update and much more).
Cheers,
Christian

Hello Christian,
Thank you for the reply but we are using Jira Server not DC.

Hi @Ghaith Haddad ,
Thanks interesting, since Jira Server does not support SAML. If you refer to SSO 2.0 on Server that is only with Atlassian Crowd (to sign in via Crowd) and not with a SAML Provider like JumpCloud.
If you want to have Single Sign On in Jira Server, you need to use a 3rd Party Plugin.
There are many in the marketplace - you get an Idea if you look at the results of this search: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?product=jira&query=saml
You'll see that the plugin we develop is the most commonly used one.
We have a variety customers that are successfully using JumpCloud with our plugin - so far it wasn't enough to warrant the effort to write a Step-by-Step Guide. Hence if you like to testdrive ours I would suggest a joint Screenshare session to configure it. You could pick a suitable slot here: https://resolution.de/go/calendly
Cheers,
Chris
P.S. Full disclosure, I work for resolution, a marketplace vendor.
