Importing question(s)

Lana Horton September 1, 2020

I have hundreds of test cases to be imported, and want to streamline the process as much as possible.

I added a column to my .csv file title "Assignee" so I could assign test cases as they are imported. The header is "Assignee" and the data in the rows beneath are Lana Horton (me) .

But when I import, the test is Unassigned. What should I change to get that to be recognized?

I also wanted to be able to put in a status, the the only Status it will accept seems to be Open. I have tried Passed, Pass, In Progress, and a couple others, and nothing imports. Can you give me some information on the allowed statuses, because I took some right off the tutorial information and they don't work.

Thank you for your help.

Hello!

For the assignee, use the username and make sure you're able to be assigned tickets in the target project. If that's already true, have you tried assigning them to another user to see if the error persists?

Are those additional statuses available on the workflow you're looking to create, and are you using the External System Import feature for this?

Best,
Damian

I am importing through the Test Case Importer. I entered my first and last name as assignee the same as it appears if I assign manually. Is there another format I should be using?

Hi @Lana Horton ,

you should use the username; just that :)

Thanks - it just leaves it blank. I have permission and am putting in my name as it appears when I assign manually.

Hi Lana,

well I’m not sure if you’re using the username or your name. If you’re using the username and it doesn’t work I advise you to reach out Xray team support so the team can help you out

Sergio

Thanks - My username is my name as it appears on the list of assignees when I change it manually. I thank everyone for their input.
