How to include JIRA ticket status in email notification

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

I get email notification when tickets are edited, I'm @ mentioned, etc... The email does not currently include the ticket status. I would like to be able to see if the ticket is still in progress (all the statuses) or resolved. How can I include the status in the email notification?
