Creating custom reports - Company Managed Projects

sthakore June 1, 2022

Hello,

Does JIRA Cloud have the ability to generate custom reports for projects that are - Company-Managed Projects?

Found this article to generate custom reports but it is only for projects that are Team Managed.

Hi, @sthakore !

I suggest you another solution, if you are ok with Jira plugin - The Recurring Checklists and Report add-on developed by my team.

It allows to make a to-do list for your team`s tasks and control the performance by one-page report.

Hi @sthakore

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!!

Please fol

  1. Select Reports.> New report from the left-hand sidebar of your  project.
  2. Give your report a title.
  3. Select the Add series option. What is the definition of a report series?
  4. From the Series drop-down menu, choose the required series.
  5. Give the series a name that represents what you're measuring.
  6. Choose a colour for the series data to appear on the graph.
  7. Filter the series by issue type, status, priority, or component if required. To add more filters, select + More.
  8. Select Switch to JQL and enter the relevant information to filter using Jira Query Language (JQL). Find out more about JQ.
  9. Return to the basic filters by selecting Basic.
  10. Add is the option to choose.
  11. Select Add series and repeat steps 4–8 to add up to 20 series if required.
    Choose Create.

Atlassian has very detail document on how to create custom report in company manage project, please do check out and let us know if you face any issues.

Hope this information is helpful.

Thanks,
Mayur

Hello Mayur,

I looked at same article in my post. The problem is our projects are company managed projects. The steps you outline are for team managed projects.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Sid

Hi @sthakore ,

The above steps are for company manage projects.

Hi Mayur,

Thanks for your response. I checked the steps again and I do no have the "New Report" option on any of my projects. How do we confirm if there is additional configuration to get the report functionality. Is there any documentation you can provide?

Hi @sthakore

You will have to use JQL to make the custom report.

If we use JQL to create the query then save the query, does the query show as selectable to use as a new report?

I have the exact same issue, I can't see the "New Report" button, I'm an Org Admin...

Where is this button ? Is there a specific permission that is needed somewhere in the 2 millions options that JIRA is offering ?

Brian Horton June 28, 2023

No response and frankly, I don't believe creating new reports is an option in JCloud now. You can, however, download the data from your instance and use the JIra plugin in Excel to create the report and even upload the .xls to be accessible to run.
