Hello,
Is it possible to connect customers with their company based on their email URL?
What I want to do is indicate the URL that matches a company and have each new contact with the same URL to be entered as a contact under that company.
Example:
I set up so that the URL for the company called "TESTTTT" is @techoneway.com
Then whenever a new client from this company writes us an email he will be assigned as part of the company.
Is this available? If so, how do I set it up?
@Alex Rhodes, actually what you are asking I think is to restrict signup by domain. By doing so you can open the SD project to the ‘public’ but restrict the the domains, e.g. xxx@mycompany. com. Unfortunately this feature is still missing. Here is one suggestion open that you may wish to vote for and watch. JSDCLOUD-3669. If you are on server you can watch it’s cousin which you will find a link to in the link I provided.
not exactly what I was asking. I do not want to restrict signup. Currently there is a manual function to add customers under an organization.
I would like customers to be added automatically to organizations based on their email URL. This is a fairly common feature in most CRM's I have worked with in the past.
Is this not available in the JIRA service desk?

Ah got it. However the same answer applies unfortunately. There are a few open suggestions on that feature as well so you might want to locate and vote/watch. Here is one - JSDCLOUD-4417

This is exactly what I need. Unfortunately, I see this has been open since 2016. Is there any real chance of this actually being developed?

I couldn’t say as I’m just a user like you. I don’t work for Atlassian. That said I feel this issue and the other aforementioned are two of the most often requests I see in the Community so if enough folks vote for them that will help. That said I certainly wouldn’t expect to see anytime soon.
