regarding mandatory fields in jira service desk

Hi I want to make sure the due date is mandatory while assigning the task to an agent. However when the agent enters the task he is not required to fill the due date.

How do I achieve this?

Hi Anik

THat's not possible via the customer portal.  The only thing I can think of is if you have your agents raise issues in Jira vs customer portal where you can ensure due date is not required on Jira but is on the portal.

Hi Susan, Thanks for replying back.

I think you misunderstood me. I am trying to frame my question again.

I am the admin of the service desk project. I want that the customer doesnt enter the due date. and so i prepared the form without any due date field. However I want the project head who when assigns this task should have due date as mandatory field. 

I mean in assign task screen, Iwant this field to be mandatory, Can it be achieved?

Hi Anik,

THanks for the fuller explanation.  So what you can do is in the workflow transition screen add the due date to the screen (as well as assignee).  Then in the Validators section add in a validator for "Fields Required" and select the due date.
