I don't know of any Atlassian repository. There are a ton of icons on the internet though.

It's a shame Atlassian just doesn't provide more icons from the box, how difficult can it be with such a design department?

Yes, it would be nice if there was a larger repository built in.

Icons8 has a huge repository of icons, some free of charge but with limited formats.
