(Apologies, just started playing with Service desk)
I am looking at using the Service desk as a way of creating a Customer services interface. However, I need to be able to pull some basic information (product details, transactional records, etc) from my hosted database based on the user that has called up.
Is this possible? is there a guide somewhere? or can anyone give any advise?
Hi Sanjay, welcome to the Community!
In order to pull records from an external source in Jira Service Desk Cloud, you'll need to utilize apps from the Atlassian Marketplace.
There are a few apps that look promising for importing data into custom fields for use in Service Desk. A couple even have strategies for dependent fields (i.e. the options in one field are based on the values you select for another field). Have a look at the matching apps here and see which one most closely fits your need. I can't make a specific recommendation among the available options, but I can try to answer questions about a particular one if you need help getting configured after selecting one. For any paid apps, you should be able to try them out first to see if they'll work for you needs.
Cheers,
Daniel
