We have our Jira service Desk License still it show us Please renew your Jira Core license.

  • We unable to create an issue by using CREATE button when we will use this button it will give us popup like  "You will not be able to create new issues because your Jira evaluation period has expired, please contact your Jira administrators."
  • We have licensed copy of Jira Service Desk still it gives an error. 
  • Is there any need to purchase Jira Core license along with Jira Service Desk?

Hello Shrikant,

Jira Service Desk is a standalone product and does not need Jira Core to be installed.

The issue you're running into is documented below:

Have a look at the response from our Jira Product Manager below for information on how to resolve it:

This is working as designed. We determined that enforcing a restriction on issue creation was the best way to maintain consistency with prior versions of JIRA and eliminates confusion for users on why they might be able to create issues in some projects but not others.

This situation can be resolved by removing the expired evaluation license on the Versions & licenses page, or adding a new valid license.

Please give that a try and let me know if you have any questions.

the solution says

I have already applied the new license and is valid, purchased yesterday

Shrikant,

Can you show us what else is on the licensing page? If there are other licenses that you used in trial which are expired now, you need to remove those as well.

Hi Shrikant,

Jira Core should be included with your Jira Service Desk purchase. Did you install your purchased license key correctly?

One possibility is that you had previously installed a trial license of Jira and now you are attempting to create issues into a "Software" project. Can you doublecheck the project type where you are trying to create an issue and let us know?
