Im currently drilling down on Jira Service Management und checking out several features, settings and many other attributes in order to learn more about the Cloud.
When I was checking out the "User Default Settings", I tripped over the preference "Autowatch own issues". So here my questions:

That feature is the same as on Server/ Data Center.
Autowatch means you will be a watcher automatically when you:
If you disable the preference in your profile you will still be able to watch issues manually.

i'm not sure if you are familiar with the idea of watchers in Jira?
Watchers are users that will be informed when changes are performed on the issues. (non-customers) (dependent on your notification scheme).
Basically other agents/developers that want to be kept in the loop.
Be default is this settings is set to Yes, then you will be a watcher of the issue when you create it. If this is No, well then you will not be added to the watchers.
The notifications that go out (based on your notification scheme) might/will have "watchers" defined as a recipient of those notifications.
So depending on your notification scheme you might not get all the updates you expect if you are not watching the issue.
By setting this to No, it only means that you are not automatically added as a watcher, but you can still add yourself manually.
