The ability to add a custom email address from google, other, etc. is greyed out.

I would like to set up an email channel from one of our email accounts. I've gone to the email settings section but the ability to connect a custom email account is greyed out. There's no guidance around this and of course no support or clarification around this so I can't figure out what I need to do. I have admin access and I am in charge of the helpdesk project but it seems I am still encountering blockers with no context around them as to why. 

 

I'm trialling out this product to see if it might be worth using moving forward, but its turning out to be pretty difficult so far due to a lack of clarity and guidance in the tool! Any assistance or guidance on how I can set up a custom email account when the options are greyed out would be much appreciated.

Hi @Darryn 

You need to be a Project Administrator, or Jira Administrator to be able to setup an account. 

Could you share your level of access in order to help you with more instructions if youre already have one of this access levels?

Hello! :)

Yeah I am the project administrator for the service desk. Its still greyed out. I've asked the overriding atlassian account admin to give me higher access, but he doesn't know how thats possible / if thats needed?
