I am running service desk on our servers at the moment with 2 projects for asset management through the plugin/add-on 'Insight'
I want to start giving mystaff access to see asset info and the service desk platform seems to be the wrong one.
I need it to be simple with assets and posting issues to them thats it. Is it possible for me to move to core? Maybe export or something... I am very new to Jira.
I guess my question is why have you found that JSD is the wrong application? I don’t use insight as yet but plan to test the cloud beta when it arrives and I have always viewed it to be an extension of my JSD. You certainly could move all existing issue out of JSD into a Core project.
I honestly don't understand how this all works.
All I know is there are alot of features that we don't need. PLus we already have a ticketing system (PSA Software) that we pay for so we literally only need this for asset management. If I give my staff a link that says 'Welcome to Jira service Desk' it will confuse them.

Understand but I’m not sure I can really help you at this point. You might want to chat with Insight to see how they product might I trip with your current ticketing system.
