Request participants vs Participants in JSD

Hi,

Request participants vs Participants in JSD...

Is there any difference I should be aware of regarding how these two fields are handled when it comes to e.g. Notifications toward customers?

In some cases customer who is added automatically to Request Participants is not stored in Participants field and vise versa.

Many thanks!

Hi Bojana,

If by "Participants" you are referring to the field type "Participants of an issue" this is a completely separate and different field from "Request participants" which is ONLY for Jira service desk customers that have been shared for that request/issue.

Participants gets populated when someone comments, transitions on an issue.

JSD Notifications do not recognize or notify "Participants' ONLY "Request Participants".

Hope that helps

Susan

You're welcome.  I know it's confusing when the same word is used for 2 different purposes.....

JSD does not have a default participant field to my knowledge. It has a request participant.

Users from this field would be notified in qny notification that involve all participants based on your configuration in the notification scheme and customer notification page in the project settings section.

You can check the field type under custom field page and field configuration to have a clearer insight.
