We want to force users to create tickets through our Service Desk portal, however some of our licensed Jira Software users are just choosing the project from within Jira Software and creating the ticket directly from Jira. This means they are not going through the categories and prompts setup specifically for Service Desk.
Is there a way to prevent Jira Software users from creating ticket outside of Jira Service Desk portal? If I restrict the "Create" permission in the permission scheme, will this affect the permission of users to submit from the portal?
you need to ensure the JSW users are customer and do not have access to the project. As you said remove the Create permission for those users. Start w/ one user and test it out then repeat.
