My task is to add Organizations to my current Project in Jira Service Desk. Now some of these Organizations are active and inactive based on their contract agreement.
Is there a way these can be managed in Jira Service Desk?
Hi @[deleted]
There is no way of managing this as Jira SD doesn’t provide one.
Instead, I’ll suggest checking if you can rename inactive Organizations and add a text Inactive to them so this appears in all issues they are added to.
If you cannot rename an organization,
Cheers
Thanks Ismael.
Is there any REST API to create an Organization in Jira Service Desk?
I was not able to locate any API. Let me know in case I missed anything here
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
If we cannot have any inactive Organization, what happens to the users who are part of Inactive Organization? Suppose a scenario -
We have 100 users in an Organization and we want to change the Organization status to Inactive. Now, we can Rename the Organization Name and move the tickets, but what happens to the users?
We want to restrict those users from accessing our portal. The only way we have now is to individually edit each user which is not feasible in case the number of users is high.

Find the rest api for creating organization here: https://docs.atlassian.com/jira-servicedesk/REST/3.6.2/#servicedeskapi/organization
what happens to users of inactive organizations?

So there is no way to manage this then.
I'll have to revoke the access off all 100 users in a Organizaton individually from UI.
Can you take this up as a feature request for next release?
