Hi
I have access to our internal JIRA instance on our own server. Our ICT team has said Jira Service Management has just been successfully installed but it needs configuring.
How can I tell if its been installed correctly ? This is a picture of the top Jira Command Selection Bar.
When I look at the JIRA Command Bar I can't see JSM in a separate dropdown.
If JSM is installed would it appear in a separate dropdown column ? How can I see what is installed ?
Thanks
Hello @Michael Presneill ,
It's normal that you don't have an extra dropdown, it doesn't appear this way.
You could check from your "Project" menu, where Jira lists all the Jira products you have access to :
A green category should appear if your Jira Service Management app was downloaded successfully.
If you're still not sure and have the correct permissions, a better way to check it would be to create a new project, and select the "Service" project type.
Let me know if this helps,
Guilhem
Hiya
Thanks for coming back to me. When I click on the Projects dropdown I see the following options:
Am I right in thinking that Jira Service Management is not in the selection ? Is the green "Service" icon JSM ?

Okay @Michael Presneill thanks for the screenshot !
You actually have access to Jira Service Management, which corresponds to the green icon "service" :)

Great thanks. I eventually needed some extra permissions which allowed me to access JSM and to start to work with it.
So many thanks for your help :-)

You will not see JSM on the top navigation bar. You will need to access the Clog wheel (upper right and access Jira Administration dropdown menu, then select Application. In the next window, under Versions & licenses page you will see JSM and Jira Software information
This will tell you if you got JSM installed + you can access the configuration under the Jira Service Management section in the left pane.
Hope this helps.

Many thanks Joseph for coming back to me.
It looks like I may not have admin permissions as I can't see the Clog wheel in the upper right hand corner or any where else on the Jira screen.
I will make contact with my admin team for assistance but once I do have admin access I will use the information you have provided above to help me.
Many thanks
Mike
