Jira Service Desk Side Bar Will Not Load

The sidebar on our Jira Service Desk will not load:

The issue has been intermittent, but this occurs on both Chrome and IE.

 

What can we do to fix this?

Hi Jordan, 

There are multiple factor which may cause the Sidebar not loading in JIRA. Usually the main culprit is clients network blocking resources from Jira.

To narrow it down and determine whether this is the case, would you be able to provide us the below information when you get a chance:

  • Is it affecting other users on the same network or is it only you affected?
  • Could you try accessing the same URL on another network (e.g your mobile network) and see if the issue persists?
  • Has anything changed on your company's network side recently related to blocking resources?

A very useful diagnostic step is checking your browser for any 'blocked' errors. If you're using Chrome, please follow the below steps:

1. Open DevTools
2. Go to the "Console tab" under the panel.
3. Check for errors in red. You should be seeing errors like the ones below:

You may need to take close attention to the error: net::ERR_INSECURE_RESPONSE mentioning Blocked by CORS Policy.

Those errors would mean that assets in the Network Environment are blocking Atlassian resources.

The solution to this is to have all the domains and IPs specified here whitelisted on your network side.

Hi Syauqi,

 

Thank you for your detailed response. Running DevTools I see the following errors in Console:

I have tried running via our main network and our mobile to the same result. The sidebar does load at times, but it is inconsistent. Yesterday morning it didn't load, but by yesterday afternoon everything was working fine. This issue only really just started being prevalent this week and everything had been working fine for us as we setup our ticket system thus far.
