Issue detail view closed when issue is assigned

I'm new to JSM so this might be a simple configuration question.

In JSM we have a queue containing All unassigned issues. Our agents will click on an issue to open it in the Issue detail view. From there they will click on Assign to me. The problem is that once they do that, the page is refreshed and they have to navigate back to another queue (Issues assigned to me) to find the issue.

Is there a way so that the user stays on the Issue detail view after issue assignment? My users find this really annoying.

When your users click on the issue is it opening in a new tab, the original tab, or a pop-up?

For me when I click on the key of an issue shown in a JSM Queue, the current tab changes to display the issue details. When I click Assign to Me that tab refreshes but continues to display the issue details.
