Importing customers and organizations

Hi all,

We recently started using Jira service desk and I want to import all my organisations and users (customers). We have a list of fields per customer, like a link to their website and preferred language for support purposes. 

How can I import this? Adding customers with just an email isn't sufficient for us. I can import it in any format (JSON, CSV, etc.) but don't see an option to do this?

Hi @Edwin - Unfortunately there is no native function for importing organizations and customers.  However, you could do so through the API:

Thanks but that's pretty annoying if you're not a developer, isn't it? 

I'll have a look at the marketplace instead, pretty sure someone figured out a solution!

If you’re looking for a solution to manage customers with more than just an email address, Mria Contacts: Contact Management in Jira & JSM is designed for this use case.

  • Import contacts and companies from CSV, including additional fields and other customer attributes

  • Add tags and additional notes to contacts and companies for support and account context

  • View each contact and company as a full record inside Jira, with all related Jira issues and Jira Service Management requests connected

  • Automatically recognize customers in Jira Service Management requests and link tickets to the right contact and company records

  • Link contacts and companies to Jira issues
