How do you move an issue through the workflow?

Hello and welcome @Monica Rivera!
In addition to the method @Jakub Hanak mentioned above, if your issue is being displayed on a sprint or kanban board, you should be able to drag and drop your issue on the column of the appropriate status.

In both cases, there may be a pop-up window with fields that need to be completed in order for the transition to finish.

Hello @Monica Rivera,

for every issue you should have some action buttons on the top of the page like this. 

And with the buttons like "Done", "In progress" or "Open" you move the issue into another status in your workflow.Best regards,
