How to link issues between two different Jira instances based on the Custom field value

Hi team,

We want to link issues (Issue linking) between two different JIRA instances based on the custom field value.

We have a JSM project where we have a custom field called JIRA-Ticket which stores Jira issue key all we want is to link the JSM issue with the JIRA issue based on the JIRA-Ticket value for example if "JIRA-Ticket" field value is ABC-123 then we want to link JSM issue to JIRA issue with the same key ABC-123 using automation.

Can you please help us how we can achieve this using Automation.

Hi @Akshithrekulapelli

if you want to do so, please make sure that you have an application link established between both Jiras.

If you have that, I actually wonder about your requirement - why don't you simply create the issue link via the UI instead of manually typing a Jira issue key?

Let's assume you have a good reason to do so, you'd need to look into the Jira Rest API for Remote Issue Links and use this to establish the link via sending web requests to both Jiras.
