How do you delete/remove a template from an issue type?

How do you delete a template from an issue type? I have a custom filed = templates that contain 3 templates, 2 that I would like to keep and one that I would like to delete because it is redundant, but I am having a tough time locating where to configure that field.

Any help would make me extremely happy.

The answer depends entirely on how you have enabled templates in your Jira system - I would guess by using an app of some sort, in which case, I would simply disable it.

I really hate templates in Jira.  When someone thinks "ohh, we should use a template for issues", what they really mean is "our process has been over-engineered and people are asking us to fill in stuff that is utterly pointless because it's always going to be the same"

I have yet to find a template install in Jira that could not be improved by removing the templated fields.
