Using the new issue view in Jira Service Desk, I do not see a way to approve a request. I have to revert to the old view every time in order to approve.

I remember briefly seeing that functionality. However, I currently do not see that under the status dropdown. The only way I can approve is via the portal or via the old view.
Is there a setting I need to confirm is turned on? Do I need to have a certain Jira made field on my view/edit/create screens? I'm at a loss here. Thank you for your help.

I figured out the answer to my issue. I had my approval set up with a user picker (single user). It looks like "Approvers can be added to requests with a "User Picker (multiple users)" custom field."
Switching from single user to multiple user solved the problem.
