My colleague who originally created our JIRA Service Desk project is no longer with the company and I need to change the name/person to an active user.
How do I do this?

Someone (ideally an administrator) needs to open the Jira Service Desk Project and do the following:
Then go to Automation and do the following:
Now all enabled automation rules will run as that person.

I did try this and changed the Project Lead to my own account.
But still the in the Automation setting I am only able to select my former colleague who originally created our service desk project.
Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

On that Automation configuration page, add your cursor to the front of |Mikael and start typing your name. Only a few letters needed for it to appear or a list of names to appear.
I think there is a bug in the Configuration screen Rules will run as if performed by the following user.
Save when done.
