I need to migrate a task we have in Samanage to our Jira Service Desk.  It's a process for exiting employees that has many steps or tasks most of which need to be performed in order.  So I want to have it say "disable account 1" then when checked off the next step is listed, until all steps are complete and the ticket can be closed.

I've no idea how to create this.

Any suggestions?

well there is nothing native. there are a number of solutions using addon app. here are some thoughts...

  • Scriptrunner or Power Scripts
  • Automation for Jira - create the first task manually along w/ the first sub-task and then have Automation create the second sub-task when the first completes and then the third when the second completes, etc. This will be tedious for long lists.
  • Checklist for Jira (or similar) - create the main task which results in all checklist items to be created. The only downside is that it doesn't enforce serialization of tasks.

personally I would use the last option and train my team
