I am looking to automate the status and the trigger of a message to the creator of a Service Desk ticket when the corresponding ticket in Jira Software changes. For instance, a user notices a bug and creates a Service Desk ticket. The attendant then creates a story ticket in a Jira Software project and links both tickets. The story is worked on and every time it changes status in the workflow, it triggers an automated email to the original Service Desk author to update them about progress.
This can be done through a service desk automation. Use the "update when a linked issue changes" automation or create one from scratch.
