Changing anyone can send to portal to customers my team adds

Currently anyone can send  a request via the portal to our email address.  if we change that to customers my team adds to the project. Will the people already listed as service desk customers remain, or will they be deleted and we have to add them back manually?

Yes they will remain intact.
