Hi - We have a requirement of embedding a link in our website labeled "Support". If a user clicks on that link that it should automatically open up the Jira Service desk portal and sign in the user without prompting for username and password. Is that possible to achieve?
Assuming that @Mustafa Khokhawala has Atlassian Access/Guard and has configured an identitity provider in the directory and that his company has a policy in place, can Atlassian be setup to automatically redirect to the current Idp for authentication instead of asking people for their email?
Hi Mustafa,
Yes, this can be achieved by setting up SSO into Jira Service Desk with your website.
We will be providing you with a SSO link that can be embedded anywhere on your website and when a user with an active session in your website clicks this "Support" link, the user will automatically get logged into the Jira Service Desk portal.
Can you tell us the technology stack for your website? I assume this website is developed by you (or your developer) and adding SSO integration changes to your website is possible.
Can you drop us a mail at info@xecurify.com or contact us here so we can guide you in the right direction?
PS: I work for miniOrange, the Top SSO vendor for Atlassian!
Thanks,
Akshay

@Akshay_miniOrange did you provide Mustafa with a solution? It would be great to hear if anything came out of your offline conversation.

This is quite an old thread, but after checking with the team, it seems Mustafa didn’t reach out to us, so we couldn’t get hold of the exact use case.
If you have similar requirements, feel free to drop us an email at info@xecurify.com or raise a ticket with us. We would be happy to help you!
Thanks,
Akshay

Thanks for the offer. I am interested in a knowing if there was an existing setting for this or at least a feature request avaiable for voting on.

Only if you have some form of SSO enabled for your website that is shared with Jira as well.

Thanks. Can you point me to a doc that explains this setup in detail.?

Also, I am assuming this applies to Jira and Jira service management cloud.

There's so many options and possibilities here, there's no way to have a single document.
You'll need to narrow down the technologies in use before anyone can point you at the areas of documentation.
To get started there, there are two things to look at here.
1) Atlassian Cloud. For SSO, this relies on "Atlassian Access". You'll need to be using that to provide your Cloud accounts, and for SSO, look to hooking it up to your own user directory.
2) Your website. This will need to have SSO enabled via whatever user directory and website technology you've chosen to use for it. I can't tell you a lot more than that, I don't know what your website is.
