I have a paid license of JIRA Software (v8.1.0) and I started a Servcie Desk trail (v4.1.10) on my self-hosted Windows server. The trail has expired for Service Desk but my Software license is still valid.
When I click the 'Create' button in the banner to create a Software issue, I get the message:
You will not be able to create new issues because your Jira evaluation period has expired, please contact your Jira administrators.
I am using the 'JIRA Software' with a valid license and not 'Service Desk', so I am now technically locked out of the software I have paid for.
I don't want to uninstall it because of existing data being lost and I also might want to start with a paid license in the near future. I'd be happier with a 'disable' button.
When you are trying to create an issue are you sure that the project is a JSW project and not a JSD project?
Yes, I was looking at an issue for a (kanban) software project at the time.
I solved it by deleting the license key and configuration under settings > versions & licenses. It works again but it is something that I was very reluctant to do. I wasn't able to just delete the key for some reason but I forgot what the error was, sorry.

Hi @oliolioli
If you haven't used them up, you do get more than one trial to use. I think you can request a new trial license.
Also, while you give up the JSD functionality, you can also convert that project to a "Software" project. You'd have to recreate all your queues, SLAs, etc but you wouldn't lose any data.
