Our automation rule failed to send on the past couple of issues. Up until yesterday this action has worked flawlessly. This is the error that was shown in the audit log:
"We received a transient error sending to the following e-mail addresses and could not confirm delivery status - please check these are valid:"
The listed email addresses are all valid. Have you experienced this issue or any pointers to resolve it?

I was getting this same error message as well. It turns out the email I was trying to send to was configured to not allow external senders.
If you're able to send with certain emails but not others, it may be worth reaching out to your IT Support group to check that the email allows external senders first.
Bump. We have the exact same issue here, with an email address that worked perfectly before this morning.
