We are going to automatically create accounts for customers on Jira Service Desk.
We also have Atlassian Access set up.
What we are trying to achieve is:
- for customers who already have an account, once they log into our Application i.e. "the Consumer", that they are automatically logged into Jira Service Desk via a token that is provided either by Jira Service Desk or Atlassian Access.
What we don't want:
- the user to ever see the Service Desk login page
Note: the user does not have an email with our domain on it.
Hi Alex,
Just for us to better understand, can you please clarify if your customers are internal users (customers with Atlassian account) or they are placed in Site Administration > Jira Service Desk > Portal only customers?
If they are only customers, they will need to log in with their email and password. Atlassian access will not be applied to customers, so they can log in only with their password, not token.
Please, let us know more details about what configuration would you like to have related to customers.
Regards,
Angélica
@Angélica Luz, customers are portal only and will have accounts created for them by our team.
We do not want customers to ever see the Service Desk login page. We want to build a system which logs them in automatically after they log into our application.

Hi Alex,
The best option, in this case, is to let your customers open tickets by email or you can create your own customer portal by following the steps of the documentation below:
- Creating your own branded customer portal
Having your own customer portal, they won't need to authenticate, it will be like they are opening a ticket through email, but using a form.
Otherwise, they will always have to authenticate to open tickets through the portal.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Angélica
