Add users to product without sending email

Hi y'all,

I need to add user groups to products (license the users) WITHOUT having the system send them an email. I made the mistake once and won't do it again. It's very annoying that I can't seem to disable that invitation email?

Do users also get an invite if I only add the group as Customers to my JSM?

Also on a side note... why is there no "Atlassian Administration" forum yet? ;)

Hey @Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_

Found an open work item in their bucket [JSDCLOUD-15729] Ability to disable the notification for product specific invitation email - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products. (I don't think they'll work on this anytime soon).

Faced a similar issue when I tried it with API [AX-716] Ability to create users via REST api without sending invitation emails. - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products., but that too seems to be a problem.

Since it's a one-time email, I opted for announcing it before hand to my Org members that they will receive a mail, and they can ignore it for today. :(

I also got an answer from the Support in the mean while.

They referenced [AX-1248] Ability to disable the Welcome emails sent to user after granting Product access - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products. and [AX-1566] Disable invite emails when granting app access to existing provisioned group with members - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

Looks to me that there is some cleanup to do on atlassian's side and that might bump the relevance right up.

Anyway: Currently there is no workaround; I'll trigger an email to over 20.000 users. Most of them will never ever log onto the respective site, but need access just-in-case.

It's absolutely ridiculous
