I have the JPD timeline view of the things we want to deliver. These are ideas. Each idea has multiple initiatives attached which are the delivery items for this idea. They are made in Jira. How can I show them in the timeline view? In essence how can I put them on an idea card so the org can see through what initiatives we are going to deliver the idea.
Hi,
To answer your exact question:
You can’t currently put each Jira work item as its own bar on the JPD Timeline, but you can:
Link all Jira initiatives to the idea in the Delivery section, and
Surface delivery progress field on the idea card so it’s clear how many delivery items and how their progress contributes to the idea.
Clicking on the delivery progress bar > Delivery tab then shows all the initiatives connected to the idea
Hope this helps!
Best,
Jet
yes, this I know. But we have a need to show to the people which initiatives are to deliver this idea. But when the timeline view is published, delivery tab is not there, so they can't check that way. Is there any workaround? Also do you plan to open the possibility to show the names of delivery items in the timeline view or any other view? I've came across such question multiple times on this forum

It's probably better to do this in Jira Plans. There you can group by (and filter etc) the Idea and also see details of every individual item connected to it.

This option I also know. But the view in Jira plans is more towards delivery. And we want to show product roadmap in terms of value being delivered and the pieces (initiatives) by which we deliver this. If it's not possible right now, can you put this into your roadmap? To get the delivery items into the views.
